Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Our growth has created immediate needs for the following positions: Maintenance Mechanic. 
Reports to:  Maintenance Manager
Direct Reports:  None
Summary: Responsible for the electrical and mechanical uptime of production equipment for two food production facilities.

Responsibility or Job/Duty Description


 Ø  Document all planned and unplanned activities in maintenance CMMS or specified paperwork.


Ø  Responsible for equipment uptime
Ø  Troubleshoot equipment downtime issues on production and packaging lines.
Ø  Perform essential and preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment and facilities.
Ø  Plan, organize and perform fabrications as directed.
Ø  Specify and order parts and other consumables.
Ø  Ensure tasks are completed safely and on time with suitable quality craftsmanship.

Ø  Other duties as assigned

Staff/Non-Staff Interaction Ø  Internal – Production Staff, mentor current Maintenance PersonnelØ  External – Mechanical, Electrical and PLC Contractors


Minimum Education and Related Experience Requirements Ø  Must have experience working in the Food IndustryØ  Vocational/technical training and minimum 5 years of Journeyman level practical experienceØ  Demonstrated strong electrical orientation and mechanical aptitudeØ  Experience with servo drives and robotics

Ø  Electronic and circuit board familiarity, ability to configure drives and related components

Ø  Competencies with PLC, program level diagnostics, analog and digital field devices, Allen-Bradley a plus

Ø  Working knowledge of service utilities maintenance, 480/240V three phase, 110V single phase, power distribution, HVAC and refrigeration a plus

Ø  Ability to read electrical schematics

Ø  Machine tool and mechanical fabrication knowledge a plus

Ø  Food Manufacturing experience a plus

Minimum Language Requirements Ø  Must be able to speak and write English proficiently, additional language skills preferred
Minimum Admin Skills Ø  E-mail proficiency, MS Excel, math and writing skills. MMS and AutoCAD proficiency a plus
Minimum Physical Requirements Ø  Must be able to work on and around equipment, lift 50-100 pounds frequently, must be able to work entire shift on feet
Starting Salary $30/hour
